What do you do with a lot of ribbon?

You make a ribbon topiary!
Of Course.

As we prepare for another household birthday, I wanted to create a unique "centerpiece" that could be used for four out of five birthdays in our home.  (And if you live nearby, I would be happy to lend you our newly decorated centerpiece for your pink festivities.)

I love. love. love. PINK and GREEN.   Love.  Thus, Pink and Green is our color scheme.

Have a 'looky' at the fun ribbon:

6.2.8

A photo recap of my baby's 2nd birthday party.  I love decorating and celebrating for birthdays and holidays.  I am passing on that love to my girls.  Because darling daughter #1 took it upon herself to design, create and decorate for her little sister.  Now that is "Sister Love" !  At least for the first 12 hours of the day, because by 8:00 pm they were very "tired" ... probably, of each other.

"2"

My baby turns two today.  I do not know where the last 729 days have disappeared.  AND ... this is big ... she is potty trained.  Yes, she has been potty trained since she was 21 months old.  I did not have to do anything to accomplish this great FEAT.  She did it on her own.  No pullups.  No little potties to clean out.  No bribing.  No begging.  Nothing.  I am so proud of her.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Petra!!

Minnie Mouse Birthday Party photos to follow...

Until then... here are some photos of the butterflies that the girls hatched from caterpillars:

NOT a Hallmark

To Someone Special
On Her Birthday
Hope your day is filled
with fun and laughter.

"Enjoy your spending money!" from Granny

The envelope was empty, yet addressed to me on my birthday. And I don't even have a "Granny". (But I do know who the card was from and I do believe it was NOT a joke.)

In our household, this card has become the "Birthday" joke. In distasteful humor, we now mail empty birthday cards to family members and friends with the insincere greeting "Enjoy your spending money!"

Ten months have passed. Sixteen cards have been mailed and delivered. One thank you note received (for the nonexistent birthday money). One familial suggestion of "gift cards" for children's birthdays. Zero phone calls have been received.

Why won't anyone call and claim their forgotten birthday money???
